It’s never too early to start saving, and by helping younger people to get into good financial habits early, you are giving them a head start in thinking about money in a responsible way.
Here at Moyenir Credit Union we have many minor members who have savings accounts and are enjoying the benefits and responsibility that comes with starting a relationship with a financial institution.
A minor account can be opened by anyone between the ages of 0-15 years and can be opened by the child’s parent. Once the child turns 16, the account is deemed to be an adult account. Minor members must satisfy our common bond requirements, where they must live in our common bond.
Minor accounts can only be opened by parents/guardian.
We are required to confirm the following information when a child wants to open an account.
If you have any queries regarding these requirements, please contact us.
